About Us

Mr. Sumatim lives in the village of Senaru, North Lombok – West Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia. He runs business on tourism since 1990, to arrange trek to Mt. Rinjani and he has an accommodation as well named Rinjani Homestay.

He is a senior member of Trek Organizer Association in Senaru which was established in 1990. He has lot of experiences in tourism such as developing ecotourism on Rinjani and managing destination. He actively involved during Rinjani Trek Ecotourism Program funded by New Zealand Government Assistance. He was one of the representatives from the village to join comparative study tour to Kinabalu National Park, Sabah – Malysia which was arranged by Rinjani Trek Ecotourism Program, the aim was to learn how to manage tourism in national park involving the local community.

He is now a board member of Rinjani Trek Center in Senaru and a chairperson of Tourism Local Working Group Forum in the village to develop destination governance which is the program of Destination Management Organisation (DMO) from Tourism Ministry.
